Resteclin is an antibiotic utilized for treating various bacterial infections. It frequently serves as an alternative for individuals who have a penicillin allergy.

Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight, as this medication can increase sensitivity to it. All tetracyclines create stable complexes with Ca2+ in bone-forming cells, which may lead to permanent discoloration of teeth during their development.

Hypersensitivity, pregnancy (2nd and 3rd trimesters), breastfeeding, and children below 8 years of age are contraindications. Caution is advised for patients with kidney impairment.

Allergic reactions may manifest as symptoms like hives, breathing difficulties, and swelling of the face, lips, or tongue. If you experience these symptoms while taking Resteclin, discontinue use and consult your physician immediately. Seek urgent medical attention for serious side effects such as severe headache, dizziness, blurred vision, fever, body aches, significant skin blistering, peeling, red rashes, reduced urination or none at all, jaundice, confusion, weakness, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, rapid heartbeat, easy bruising or bleeding, and unusual weakness.

Resteclin may reduce the efficacy of specific birth control pills. Iron supplements, multivitamins, calcium supplements, antacids, and laxatives should be taken either two hours before or after taking Resteclin. Due to a decrease in intestinal microflora, the dosage of indirect anticoagulants may need to be reduced. The effectiveness of bactericidal antibiotics like penicillins and cephalosporins, which target cell wall synthesis, is also diminished by Resteclin.

If you forget a dose, take it as soon as you recall. If it’s nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose of Resteclin.

If you experience severe and persistent allergy symptoms, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea, please consult your doctor for medical advice.
